Save a Life, Donate Blood

Our Community Needs Your Help!

As our healthcare workers continue to battle through this pandemic, they need our help more than ever. January is National Blood Donor Month and now is an important time to donate as our blood banks are facing shortages in blood supply. The help of our community is vital during this crucial time to help save lives.

COVID 19 Convalescent Plasma (CP) Donations

With the treatments of COVID evolving, convalescent plasma has proven to be a lifesaving product for COVID-19 patients. The plasma that has been taken from surviving COVID-19 patients contain antibodies, which are helpful to those battling the virus.

Those interested in donating must have:

  • A lab confirmed positive test for COVID-19 which can also include positive antibody tests.
  • Person donating must not have had any symptoms for 14 days.
  • Must still meet the eligibility requirements for donating blood.
  • Must be willing to donate plasma.

Where to Donate

Donating blood is safe and all those who donate are required to always wear a mask. The New York Blood Center is taking both Convalescent Plasma Donations and regular blood donations during this time. You can learn more about the eligibility requirements on their website.
